The Canada Greener Homes Initiative provides grants and a loan for home evaluations and for retrofits. The eligible retrofits include home insulation, windows and doors, air sealing, and mechanical and renewable energy systems.

What Heating and Cooling Products are Covered under the Greener Homes Grant?

The following HVAC products are covered in Ontario under the Canada  Greener Homes Grant:

• Up to $6500 on qualifying Air Source Heat Pump and Furnace/Air Handler Combinations
• $2500-$5000 on qualifying Ductless Heat Pumps (min 2 heads)
• Up to $1300 on qualifying Hybrid Hot Water Tanks
• Up to $600 reimbursement for EnerGuide home evaluations

What are the Eligibility Requirements for the Canada Greener Homes Grant?

In Ontario, one homeowner per home can prove home ownership and that the property is your primary residence. 

The following property types are eligible: 

• Single and semi-detached houses
• Row housing
• Townhomes
• All-season cottages
• Mobile homes on a permanent foundation
• Permanently-moored floating homes
• Mixed use buildings (residential portion only)
